MSZP: The Fidesz feeds the media with show trials - nepszava.hu

According to the MSZP the Fidesz is trying to increase their support by initiating show proceedings and they can find people at the Prosecutor’s Office who are happily willing to provide assistance to the Fidesz with their methods associated with the “darkest dictatorships”.

Gergely Bárándy, vice-president of the socialist legislative board of the Parliament stated: during the criminal procedure brought against Miklós Hagyó, former socialist Deputy Lord Mayor, and his co-defendants, it turned out that the charges were groundless lies. There was no Nokia-box, there were neither bribes nor corruption. Those who have provided assistance with the show trial were rewarded: for example the prosecutor bringing charges against Miklós Hagyó became István Tarlós’s, Lord Mayor’s chief advisor.

The Magical Nokia-box - part 21.

Why is the work of prosecution questionable?

The BKV-case is a good example of how successfully can the prosecution, the police and the court work together when the political interest requires so. One of the most important roles was performed by prosecutor Szabadváriné Dr., the chief of the Department of Special Investigation. It can be hardly considered to be correct that the first highly illegal arrests and interrogations in relation with the investigation took place with her approval – just as the fact that later she was awarded for this by Tarlós. Not to mention that the charges related to the Nokia-boxes were dealt with unexceptional attention and priority – often ignoring the related processes. The investigation in the case of the well indicated bribery was launched after Balogh unsaid his testimony. Until that time it was considered as a charge supported by one single person’s statements.

Who did initiate the prosecution in the BKV-case?

The scandal around the severance pays paid by BKV broke in 2009, not much before the parliamentary elections. The Fidesz, of course, abused the situation and they were continuously attacking the coalition leading the capital. The first charges were made by the future lord mayor as the representative of the party. István Tarlós turned to the prosecutor’s office in connection with the above mentioned severance pays on July 29, 2015.

Here is the list: policemen, prosecutors and judges proving their loyalty to Orban earn millions

A couple of days ago it was revealed that Zsolt Nagy, ex-investigator responsible for the Hagyó-case, earns a million per month at the BKV. However, he is not the only one who has been assigned a position of a competitive salary in return for their services and loyalty. Although, since then it has become obvious that - putting it slightly - they committed a bunch of “professional mistakes”.

The prosecution has failed to prove the charges against Hagyó and his co-defendants. Before the court the defendants and the witnesses talked about their earlier statements as given under coercion. Zsolt Balogh withdrew his story about the Nokia-boxes two and a half year ago. What is more, in March 2015 he publicly apologised to the ones who he had incriminated with his false statements. Finally, the prosecution also admitted that his story about the corrupt money cannot be proved with evidence. This, however, has not meant a hindrance to reward all the policemen, lawyers, prosecutors and judges acting according to the political interest.

The ex-investigator having been responsible for the Hagyó-case currently earns a million forints a month at the BKV.

A new name can be put on the list of the winners of the BKV-case: it has turned out that the then investigator responsible for the Hagyó-case earns millions as the deputy project director of the DBR Projekt Metró Board.

It has been reported several times that policemen, lawyers, prosecutors and judges acting according to the political interest have been all rewarded for their readiness – despite the fact that it was proved in many of the cases that they had made “professional mistakes”.

Péter Ottoné Szabadvári dr. - Her role in BKV-case

We do not know much of Szabadváriné’s carrier. You cannot find her CV on the internet or her exact date of birth and there is no information on her studies. The only thing which we know for sure is that she played a significant role in the BKV-case as the head of department of the Special and Economic Affairs of the Metropolitan’s Prosecutor’s Office.

She also took part in other metropolitan investigations in 2010. After this, she became one of the senior advisors of István Tarlós. However, she took this position under her husband’s family name, which seems to be logical if we take into consideration her doubtful cases.

2015. szeptember 15., kedd

The prosecutor getting Hagyó into custody is also one of Tarlós’s chief advisors

The former prosecutor who succeeded to have the former Deputy Lord Mayor of MSZP in custody appears on the list of Tarlós’s advisors by the name of her husband’s with a monthly salary of 850 thousand forints. Former counter intelligence agents and police officers involved in the BKV-case are employed by the capital city, as well.

One of the Lord Mayor’s most well-paid chief advisors is Péter Ottóné Szabadvári dr. The lawyer currently using his husband’s name at the City Hall worked as prosecutor by the name of Katalin Vámos: she was involved not only in the Hagyó-case but also in proceedings against more executives in Budapest. Her name also appears in cases of breach of state-secrets and in the cases in connection with the UD Ltd. She is not the only one who took a role in these cases and became employed by the capital after Tarlós had been elected.

The former prosecutor can be hardly recognized

On the salary list published by the Origo a couple of weeks ago the most well-paid advisor in the 14-member advisory team appears by the name of her husband, Péter Ottóné Szabadvári dr. The chief advisor working as special referee for a monthly salary of 850 thousand forints was identified by the Origo as the former prosecutor who had played an important role in the Hagyó-case.

The Prosecutor’s Office also has disbelief in the story of the Nokia-box.

At the trial of the BKV-case on Tuesday, the prosecution also arrived at the conclusion that the main count against Miklós Hagyó – the receipt of the bribes hidden in the Nokia-box - could not be substantiated any more after the only incriminatory testimony had been unsaid before the court. Interestingly, the prosecution initiated the related investigation only after bringing charges against the former Deputy Lord Mayor of MSZP.

The most serious count of the indictment against Miklós Hagyó, former Deputy Lord Mayor of MSZP, seems to be refuted in the lawsuit heard at the Court of Kecskemét.

The count against Hagyó was based on Zsolt Balogh’s, former Chief Executive Officer of the BKV’s, contradictory statements made earlier during the investigatory phase.

The statements made on the bribes delivered in the Nokia-box and becoming well-known in 2010 were unsaid by Balogh during an earlier phase of the lawsuit in 2012. This year he asked Hagyó for his apologize at the trial, furthermore he claimed: he had never delivered money to Hagyó, either in a Nokia-box or any other way. On Tuesday at the trial the prosecution admitted that the statements on the Nokia-box could not be proved.

The legend of the nokia-box and the pure truth - part 5

A news came to light in the Hungarian media in March 2010 which shocked the whole country. This served the proof to the ones who criticize the Gyurcsány-government that the socialist-liberal administration is rotten to the core. This prejudice has been created successfully by the right-wing media.

Contradictions in the confessions of the accused of IV order

Before proceeding to the contradictions among the confessions of Zsolt Balogh I would like to draw the reader’s attention to an interesting event of the investigation. Before the arrest of Miklós Hagyó he indicated to the investigating authority on 11th May 2010 that he shall be at their disposal, he lives in his residency and gave all of his availabilities. In spite of this the police failed to interrogate Hagyó before his arrest of 14th May 2010.

Zsolt Balogh also offered his testimony to the investigating authority in the first half of October 2009 howver he was interrogation only in February 2010 firstly as witness and then as a suspect as stated in the letter dated on 8th April 2011 and addressed to the K.D. Marshall.

Tarlós trusted the former socialist deputy mayor with two companies in Budapest

Tarlós trusted the former socialist deputy mayor with two companies in Budapest

2010. 10. 27
Tarlós István appointed a former socialist politician as the leader of the Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest and of the new initiated Protection Agency of Budapest („The Budapest FBI”). Pető György worked as a counter-espionage at the group of III/II before the communist regime ended, now he is transfers to companies in Budapest.
Tarlós István appointed Pető György on the general assembly on Wednesday to be the director of the Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest and he trusted him to be the leader of the Nonprofit Protection Agency of Budapest Ltd which was initiated newly. This company is in charge of the control and coordination of the safeguarding of the companies in Budapest.

Tarlós knew Pető from the time of his former mayor work of Óbuda, Pető was working next to him between 2002 and 2006 as deputy mayor from MSZP. Pető was also a representative in the next period in Óbuda, he was leading the fraction of the MSZP, until the beginning of 2008, when he quit from the fraction with his 9 fellows. The people who quit from the MSZP were taken under one’s wings by the MSZDP, but in the October of 2009 they left this party too and they worked as independents in the district.
The HVG in March, wrote an article about Pető who became the fellow-worker of the BRFK (Main Police Office of Budapest), he is working in the department of the economy protection, where, together with others, they are working on the BKV case. The BRFK for the question of the newspaper they answered that „Mr. Pető civil servant is an employee of the BRFK”. The paper wrote that Pető was a rival in the MSZP with Hagyó Miklós, and that he had a good relationship with Tarlós István in the III. district.
Pető didn’t have his first connection with the police in this year. In his CV he undertook straightly-out that between 1979 and 1983 he was working in the American department of III/II as an open substance counter-espionage. „I never concealed that I was working in the American department of III/II as open substance counter-espionage, looking at my status as a police officer. But I was never an agent in the meaning of the word, what was connected to it after the end of the communist regime” – he wrote it in an open letter, when before the elections it came out that because of his state security in his past the SZDSZ is not going to support him.
In 2005 the FIDESZ’s organization of Óbuda also asked about his past and he also replied in an open letter in that time too and he wrote that beside the counter-espionage he was one of the BM’s (Ministry for Home Affairs) KISZ secretary (Hungarian Young Communist League, in the communist regime this was a communist youth movement and the secretariat was a big role, position in this league) and the head of the department of the KISZ’S KB (Central Commission) in the previous regime.

Pető György a rendszerváltás előtt kémelhárítóként dolgozott a III/II-es csoportnál, most a BRFK-tól igazol át a fővárosi cégekhez.

A HVG márciusban arról írt, hogy Pető a BRFK munkatársa lett, a gazdaságvédelmi osztályon dolgozik, ahol egyebek mellett a BKV-ügyön is dolgoznak. A BRFK a lap kérdésére csak annyit közölt, hogy "Pető György úr köztisztviselő, jelenleg a BRFK munkavállalója." A lap azt írta, az MSZP-n belül Pető Hagyó Miklós ellenlábasa volt, Tarlós Istvánnal viszont jó munkakapcsolatot ápolt a III. kerületben.

Information network from the leaders of capital companies?

Information network from the leaders of capital companies?
After a dumped on prosecute against the CEO of the Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest Ltd., Pető György, the former superannuated police officer who from last year’s fall became the leader of the Protection Agency of Budapest („The Budapest FBI”) and of the Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest. Pető, according to the assumption in 2010 when he was working at the BRFK (Main Police Office of Budapest) as a police, he roped in people as informator who became leaders at big companies in Budapest after the election.

According to a prosecute, the BRFK roped in people as informators in „Bété and Huszár” anonym before the elections. The person who did this rope ins were Pető György, who was a working as a superannuated police officer at the main department of economic defense until October,2010, then he left the Police Office and he became the leader of the Protection Agency of Budapest („The Budapest FBI”) which was the responsible for the companies of self-government of Budapest, and of the Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest. The two informator according to the prosecute became the CEO of 1-1 big companies which was owned by Budapest in November.

Originally the prosecute was made in the case of the FKF (Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest ) studies in the end of last year when it turned out that the BRFK ended the investigation in the case. By the help of the prosecute which in one hand gave new facts, and in the other hand it started to dissect the circumstances of the ending of the case, the investigating started again, but now the National Investigation Office (Nemzeti Nyomozó Iroda) was trusted with it. The National Investigation Office still investigating in the case.

As we reported before, the prosecute assume a connection between the people of the main department of economic defense and the people of the Protection Agency of Budapest („The Budapest FBI”) which was newly founded and it’s belongs to the Lord Mayor Office. The task of the Protection Agency of Budapest is the protection (against corrupt) lookout for the companies of the self-government which includes the Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest.

We as well reported that now the leader of the FBI is Pető György, former socialist self-government representative, former state protection officer, who was working at the main department of economic defense as a senior from the beginning of 2010 until the fall of 2010 and he was working on the malfeasances in the companies of public works.

Because of him it could happen that they started an investigation in the beginning of 2010 in the FKF (Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest), in the Főtáv Ltd (main heating company in Hungary) and in the company of the thermal bath in the connection with suspicious affairs. After the self-government election in the fall Pető became the leader of the newly founded FBI and of the Maintainer of Public Spaces of Budapest at the same time for the ask of Tarlós István. Pető according to a few opinions, after the change of the workplace he still had effect for a few police process.

According to the newest details what our paper got, Pető earlier exploited his police position with the people’s rope in from the companies of Budapest. These people were former or present workers, officers of the Budapest’s companies and they were registered as organized connections. The informators helped the investigations which started in the spring of 2010 with inside information. The former informator asseveration in that time at the company that he will be the leader of the company after the election.

We contacted the self-government of Budapest in this case, but they didn’t want to reply. Even Pető György didn’t want to comment the article.

Police informator levels

In the aspect of the investigation there are 3 levels. The so called event informant in specific cases helps with his observations as a witness in the process. The informator (the article is about them) has a folder at the police which contains all his personal details (in closed envelope), the report of the coating (where the boss of the person who ropes in people accepted the coating), and all the report about the meetings with the person who ropes in people and about the occurring expense settlings. The third, most serious level is the secret co-worker, what means a built-in external person. In all the three levels the informators can do important and necessary works.

Maga Pető György sem kívánta kommentálni a cikket.

Rendőrségi informátori szintek

A nyomozások szempontjából három informátori szint létezik.

The Mayor’s Man is Connected to the BKV Case?

The Mayor’s Man is Connected to the BKV Case?

Many of the 15 defendants in the trial of the Budapest Transport Company (BKV) have claimed accused the interrogators of perhaps illegal interrogation tactics.  The promise of harsh pretrial jail time if the suspects did not provide the verbal evidence which the police sought has been one of the most common assertions from the group.
Alongside these claims, many of the defendants have also declared that the prosecution first chose their culprits for the possibly unsubstantiated charges.  Then they attempted to produce the evidence.  In Hungarian a trial like this is a “koncepciós perek,” or a show trial.
Well, it seems that two more dots have connected which might support the “koncepciós” theory.
This connection lies in the relationship between György Pető and István Tarlós.  The latter is the current mayor of Budapest.  Pető was a former employee of the Budapest Police Department and allegedly involved with BKV’s investigation committee.  He was also one of deputy mayors of Budapest, alongside Tarlós, until 2007 when Miklós Hagyó’s city hall office manager defeated Pető for the MSZP representative slot of Óbuda.  Disgruntled over this, Pető left MSZP to become an independent.
Shortly after Pető went on to join the Budapest Police Department while Tarlós became the mayor of Budapest.

Tarlós’s man directed/controlled the extortionist policemen

Tarlós’s man directed/controlled the extortionist policemen
It’s getting clearer, that the investigation of the BKV case didn’t go on the usual way, where one of the departments of the BRFK (Main Police Office of Budapest) was working on the case in the beginning. The leader of the department, Pető György lord mayor Tarlós István’s former deputy mayor of Óbuda became the leader in the beginning of the investigation of this case, who was the main person for the lord mayor since the local government’s election.
Mesterházy Ernő (the former advisor of the former lord mayor Demszky Gábor) said it first in the hearings of the BKV case at the Kecskemét Court, that the policemen promised him the extenuation of the duress provision if he says incriminatory testimony against Demszky Gábor and Hagyó Miklós. Later Antal Attila, the former CEO of the BKV told about it too that he was saying incriminatory details against his former colleagues and about the other defendants because of the pressure from the investigators, what about he already said sorry.
About the anomalies of the investigation the most surprising information was said in the court by Balogh Zsolt, and in his investigation testimonies. According to his saying, he was talking based on a list about contracts which later were said by the counsel that those were unneeded, so he was talking about contracts signing which he had nothing to do with it. A part of the contracts what he was talking about in his testimonies also was signed in the time when he wasn’t even working at the BKV, moreover he was starting as a manager/head of department not as a deputy CEO.
Balogh in one of his investigation testimony what was read at the court he answered for the question that what he knew about the given company and about the work of that company, he answered nothing, because he just saw that on a list. The judge asked Balogh, what list he was talking about, what was answered by Kutron Katalin counsel, and she said that this list has to be the accusation, but at the same time there was no hint about that in the investigation documents/folders that they showed anything to Balogh Zsolt which is anomalous.
Lelovics Ottó, the former communication director of Hagyó, and Regőczi Miklós, the former deputy CEO of BKV also said in their court testimony that the policemen threated them too. Both of them told that the investigators always told them that about who should they say inciminatory testimonies and they always told them this in an elevator or in the hall but they never told them this in an office room/place. They said if they are not going to do it, they will have a much longer pre-trial detention. Regőczi partly yield to the pressure, so in the court he was only maintain his testimonies what he said without any duress/pressure, and he was saying them at large/out from prison/pre-trial detention.  Regőczi also noticed that the investigators incriminated the people of the case before they collected any evidence against them, so they sewed the coat on the buttons. Professedly the policemen complained this to the former leader of the BKV.
Curiosity that at the time of the investigation, Pető György lead the department of the BRFK where they investigated the BKV case. Pető before the end of the communist regime was connected with the home affairs organizations, because he was an officer at the department of the III/II. Later he was a politician at the socialist party and thankful for that he was the deputy mayor of Óbuda next to Tarlós István for a whole term/period. But in 2007 with a few of his party fellows he left the MSZP because he didn’t win the position of the MSZP’S president in Óbuda, the position went to Hagyó Miklós’s office manager at the city hall. For a little time he was in the MSZDP, but later he finished his carrer of Óbuda as an independent.
At the time of the campaign for the local government’s election he was still working for the police station, when the record of the police confronting between Hagyó Miklós and Balogh Zsolt leaked out, which affected after the parliamentary elections the local government elections too, then after the winning of Tarlós István he retired and he became the leader of the Control of the Public Place of Budapest, as the trusted of the lord mayor. Later Pető became the leader of the FBI of Budapest. It refer to Pető and Tarlós confidential relationship that when Tarlós said in this year his holiday speech on the 23rd of October at the radio the „main public placer” (Pető) was standing next to the lord mayor.

Mesterházy Ernő, Demszky Gábor egykori főpolgármesteri tanácsadója jelezte elsőként a Kecskeméti Törvényszéken zajló BKV-per tárgyalásán, hogy a rendőrök a kényszerintézkedések enyhítését ígérték, amennyiben Demszky Gáborra, illetve Hagyó Miklósra terhelő vallomást tenne. Később Antal Attila, a BKV korábbi vezérigazgatója is arról számolt be, hogy rendőrségi nyomásra mondott terhelő adatokat volt kollégáiról, illetve vádlott társairól, amiért bocsánatot is kért.
A nyomozás anomáliáiról a legmeglepőbb információt azonban Balogh Zsolt közölte a bíróságon, illetve nyomozati vallomásaiban.
Pető később a fővárosi FBI-nak nevezett cég vezetői posztját is megkapta. Tarlós és Pető bizalmi viszonyára utal az is, hogy amikor Tarlós idén október 23-án ünnepi beszédet mondott a rádiónál, a főközterületes közvetlenül a városvezető mellett állt.

The winners of the BKV case: Pető György

The winners of the BKV case: Pető György
Pető György is one of the biggest winners of the BKV’s case. Before he was working at the inside political prevention, at the II/III section as a policeman, and he was the socialist deputy mayor of Óbuda between 2002-2006. At that time, the district’s first person was Tarlós István, and their relationship/cooperation was harmonious, because it was unravel in the electioneering of 2006 how Tarlós leaded the sittings of the district’s representative corporations. As it known, there was a sound-recording at a blog (the owner of the blog was a socialist politician not from the III. district), where it can be heard, that Tarlós István said to one of his political rival during an argument: whether you could just take off your glasses and step on it.

Pető György stayed as a representative in the corporation of Óbuda after 2006, and until the beginning of 2008 he lead the party’s representative group, then when Czeglédi Gergő (Hagyó’s former registrar at the city hall) became the regional party president, he quit from the fraction and from the party with 9 party fellows, and they joined the Hungarian Social Democratic Party which was lead by Kapolyi László, but later they even quit from there, so they finished their self-governing term/cycle as independents.
Pető, after he didn’t become again the deputy mayor of Óbuda, he became the administration boss of Molnár Gyula, who was the mayor of Újbuda in that time. In that time the opposite of Hagyó Miklós and Molnár Gyula was legendary, because the former deputy lord mayor had a role in Molnár losing his position as a socialist president of Budapest.

Pető made a true surprise when not a long time after the BKV case unsnapped/exploded it was read that he returned to the bond of the police, even more to that department, where they had an investigation against his former rival. The former deputy of Tarlós didn’t give a lot for the appearance/face, after the campaign of the parliament and the self-governing was managed by the Fidesz and the counsel in the terms of the BKV case.
Suddenly Pető György left/quit the police station, and he came back as a determinative co-worker of his former rival. Pető, not long after the election became the leader of the Public place control of Budapest, and then they created for him the FBI of Budapest, which was contracted/signed up with businesses/companies from Budapest, and it was responsible for the defense of the self-governing property and for corporation crime preventing. The new business would have been responsible for security of the information and property, but they didn’t get the license for that from the confidential person of Tarlós István at the General Assembly of Budapest. The FBI of Budapest only last year husbanded/managed from 236 million forint.
