On Sunday, in the framework of a ceremony, the European Swimming Federation, the Hungarian Swimming Association and the Hungarian Government, implemented a signed agreement concerning the organization of the 2010 year’s Diver, Artistic swimmer and open water Swimming Championships .
On this occasion, The City Hall Direction of Budapest honored in a ceremonial lunch Mustafa Larfaoui, the International Swimming Federation’s (FINA) President, Nory Kruchten, the European Swimming Federation’s President, Sven Folvik, LEN-Secretary general and Christa Thiel, Treasurer of LEN. As Deputy Mayor of the Capital, Mr. Hagyó hosted the luncheon event for the national and international sport leader’s parttaking in the ceremonial signatures.
The municipal (local) government representative, Minister of sports, Zoltán Varga, responsible for the Ceremony in which Nory Kruchten, the European Swimming Association, and Hungarian Tamas Gyarfas, President of the Association, signed the agreement for the implementation of the 2010 European Championships, with regards to Diver, artistic swimmer and open water Swimming Championships. The Championship is now, according to the agreement concluded and will take place between the capital, and Balatonfüred on 4th. and 15th . of August, next year.
On this occasion, the banquet given by Mr. Hagyó Miklós, Deputy Mayor of the Capital, in the name of the administration for City Hall, also being appointed for sports, took part in the signing of the agreement. He gracefully greeted the Participants in the name of the Mayor, Gabor Demszky who could not attend the event because of another commitment and also in the name of the sports loving citizens. He emphasized the importance of these international events which are monitored by the international community. He also reminded them of Budapest’s role as a first ranking host of the last swimming European championships and that this will be the case again in the European Swimming Championship. In line with the Hungarian Association of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Hagyó, as Chairman of synchronized swimming association and was also appointed as co-Chair of the organizing committee, has expressed his pleasure concerning next year’s hosting of the European Championships in the capital of Hungary.
After this allocution, the trilateral agreement was signed, following this; Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai hosted a banquet for the sports leaders in the Parliament Delegation Hall.

A Európa-bajnokságra a most megkötött megállapodás szerint jövő év augusztus 4. és 15. között kerül majd sor a fővárosban, illetve Balatonfüreden.
A dokumentum aláírása alkalmából rendezett díszebéden Hagyó Miklós sportért is felelős főpolgármester-helyettes képviselte a főváros vezetését. A megjelenteket úgy a maga, mint a más elfoglaltság miatt távol levő Demszky Gábor főpolgármester, valamint a kontinensviadalnak otthont adó Budapest sportszerető lakossága nevében is köszöntötte. Rövid köszöntőjében hangsúlyozta, hogy mennyire fontos a város életében minden ilyen nemzetközi figyelemmel kísért esemény. Emlékeztetett arra is, hogy Budapest a legutóbbi budapesti úszó EB alkalmával megtapasztalt módon, most is elsőrendű házigazda lesz. Hagyó Miklós a Magyar Szinkronúszó Szövetség elnökeként, a szervezőbizottság társelnökként is kifejezte abbéli örömét, hogy a jövőre megrendezendő Európa-bajnokságnak a magyar főváros adhat otthont.
A háromoldalú megállapodás aláírására ezt követően került sor, majd azt követően Bajnai Gordonminiszterelnök adott fogadást a megjelent sportvezetők számára az Országház Delegációs Termében.
